Our Daily Schedule

FREE CHOICE

Free choice allows the students to pretend play and interact with peers with cars, blocks, dolls, kitchen, etc. with adult facilitation as needed.  Tabletop activities and turn taking games will also be available to encourage peer interaction and turn taking.

CIRCLE TIME

Circle time activities encourage language skills and imitation, while integrating academic skills such as shapes, colors, name recognition, counting, etc.  Music and movement are integrated into most activities.  This time also provides an opportunity for students to have “jobs,” where they help the teacher with routine tasks throughout the circle.  At the end of circle, every student earns a choice from the “prize box,” which is a reinforcing toy that they are able to enjoy for a few minutes.

CENTERS

Centers allow students to work on fine motor skills while creating projects relating to our unit.  Students will be cutting, pasting, coloring, tracing, and lacing.  Gross motor activities are also be integrated throughout the centers to keep the students engaged and movements.  There is at least one academic center per day in order to strengthen these skills as they prepare for kindergarten.

RECESS

Recess gives students an opportunity to interact with peers while playing on play equipment, sandbox, playground, and tricycles.  This is also good opportunity to work on their gross skills and socializing with the entire preschool.

SNACKS/LUNCH

Students will eat a healthy snack or lunch brought from home while interacting with their classmates.  It is a great time to encourage natural language among peers.
